Bliss is a semantic based graphic language, which is able to substitute for any other native language. This language is based on graphic symbols. Even kids can easily remember graphic symbols and their meanings.

In 1971 Blyssymbols became popular as a method of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) for non-speaking people with cerebral palsy or other disorders, for whom it can be impossible to otherwise communicate with the spoken language.

In the process of communication interlocutors use an individual communicative card (Bliss-card), which substitutes and enlarges native speech. This card is created with the help of cognitive, language, sensory and physical abilities of a child or an adult. All symbols are placed in accordance with their grammatical forms. That's why it's not difficult to find the necessary word during the process of communication.

For example, if an interlocutor has never used Blyssymbols before, he should read the meaning written under each Bliss-card.

If a child has a serious form of cerebral spastic infantile paralysis and he is not able to make hand movements at all, then an educational specialist puts a helmet with laser pointer on a child's head. Moving his head a child can point out the necessary symbol on the Blyss-card.

This language system can be used on different speech levels. Many kinds of print output such as: books, dictionaries, post cards and etc. have been already published in the Bliss-language.
